What type of first aid courses are there in Melbourne?

There are a variety of different first aid courses available in Melbourne for first aid training, so how do you know the one you need? Nominated first-aid workers are a must for every workplace, but it is important to have the right level of training for your first aid attendant with the different kinds of first aid training available.

Workplace Training

Many workplaces need first-aid helpers. It can take time for the emergency services to respond if you require medical assistance. On average, an ambulance takes about 7 minutes to arrive in life-threatening circumstances. But it takes just four minutes to die of a heart attack. Until paramedics arrive, being able to give CPR will prolong life, raising the chances of recovery and survival.

First Aid At Work

The three-day First Aid at Work course is the certification to be earned for working conditions of greater risk. This course will give you a more detailed understanding of first aid and associated practical skills.

This course includes the module on the emergency first aid at work (the one-day course), but also how to cope with a number of minor and major diseases. You can learn about additional illnesses that could occur at work, such as fainting, spinal trauma, stroke, chest pain, heart attack, and other medical issues.

First Aid at Work Emergencies

For those in small, low-hazard work settings, the one-day Emergency First Aid at Work course is most fitting. This course will teach you the skills you need to deal with emergency first aid situations, as the name implies.

Completing the course would turn you into a trained first aid emergency respondent. In a number of emergency first aid conditions, such as cuts, burns, broken bones, bleeding and shock, you will know what to do. You'll learn CPR and how to apply bandages and the recovery position. This course does a reasonably decent job of covering the fundamentals.
